Everything you need to know to start tracking and splitting expenses with Tabello.
What is Tabello?
Tabello is an expense splitting app for groups. Add shared expenses, and Tabello calculates who owes what — with support for multiple currencies, proportional tax and tip, attendance-based splitting, and more. When it's time to settle up, Tabello figures out the fewest payments needed.
Signing Up
Create an account with Apple, Google, or Facebook to get started.
On mobile, you can also Continue as Guest to start using Tabello without an account. Guest accounts have full access — create an account whenever you're ready.
Guest data is tied to your device
If you sign out or lose access to your device, guest data cannot be recovered. Inactive guest accounts are automatically deleted after approximately one year. Sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook to keep your data safe across devices.
Trackers and Bill Splits
Tabello has two kinds of records on the home screen, each on its own tab. Trackers keep a running ledger of expenses, balances, and payments — pick Regular or Prorated based on how you split. Bill splits are one-shot calculations from a single receipt, with no ongoing balance to maintain.
Regular Tracker
Add expenses manually and split them evenly by default. You can customize the split on any individual expense using percentages or fixed amounts. Best for roommates, group dinners, events, and ongoing shared costs.
Prorated Tracker
Split expenses based on how many days each person is present. Set a time period and adjust daily presence weights per participant. Best for trips where people arrive or leave on different dates.
Bill Split
Snap a receipt, assign each item to who shared it, and Tabello shows what each person owes — with tax, tip, and fees split proportionally. A one-shot artifact for splitting a single bill, separate from your trackers.
Creating Your First Tracker
Quick start

Tap Create tracker to set up a regular or prorated tracker. For a one-shot split of a single receipt, tap Split bill instead — see Bill Split.

Give it a name, pick a currency, and choose a splitting method (Even Split or By Attendance).

Add participants, start adding expenses, and Tabello handles the rest.
